About Me

My name is Melissa and I am married to an amazing man, Adam. I am a stay at home Mom of five girls and two boys. Yes, that is seven kids. Though my days get crazy and are full, they are lots of fun and there is nothing I would rather do! Growing up I knew I wanted kids, eight boys to be exact! I was a tom boy and knew that if I had girls they would be girly girls and I wanted nothing to do with that. I just wanted boys! My plan started out well when I had my first son, N who is now 13. The first kink came when my second pregnancy resulted in a little girl, Z, who is now 11. She was a doll and I loved her so I figured one girl wasn’t bad. Next we added little boy A to our family who is currently 9. That was when my whole plan went down hill. After A I had twin girls! Two of them at a time! K and B are now 7 and I can’t imagine my life without them!! Little girl A came next. She is my angel girl and is 4. Lastly came girly number 5, T who is almost 2.

Five girls who I love to death and who each have tons of hair! I disliked the messy hair that covered Z’s face when she was little so I tried to start doing their hair. My first attempts were very bad! My mother in law helped me out and started teaching me how to do dos and I have just continued from there! I love to do their hair and use the time to talk to each girl undistributed for a few minutes. I get my ideas from other blogs and other cute girls I see around! Most of the dos I do don’t take too long because I have five of them to do! If you ever have questions or comment I welcome them. I would also love to see pictures of your sweetie with a fancy do!

I love your hair styles. I have 5 girls and 2 boys as well, although our oldest 4 are on their own now. Our 3 little ones are all girls…4 1/2, 5 and 6. I have one with very straight hair, one curly and one kinky curly. Always looking for new ideas as well as things that don’t take a lot of time. Great ideas!!!!! Thank you for sharing.

I love how their hair is so controlled. I have tried almost everything, and my daughters’s hair is very much like your girls so I had to ask. How do you keep all the fly-a-ways, away? I can do the braids, spray with detangler, with water, with almost everything, and they are still there. Any help would be super, your daughters’s hair always look so controlled. :)

Thank You So Much for this site! I have complete wash n’ wear hair and was in a bit of a panic when my girl came along. I used to make fun of other baby girls’ front and center ponytail “fountain” of hair until I found myself resorting to the same thing haha! My daughter has very fine, curly hair and at 20 months it’s all different lengths around her head – too long to be left down but too short and fine for most pigtails, and forget about cute barrette clips and such. Now I can’t wait to try out something new! Thanks for the inspiration!

I just discovered you via Pinterest. My daughter (almost 4) HATES having ponytails or anything in her hair, and I HATE that it always seems scraggly and in her face. I showed her a few pictures on your site today, and she *liked* a few! Hopefully she’ll let me do them! Thanks for the great ideas!

I found a pin on Pinterest. I am so glad I found you. You have been such a lifesaver, I can leave their hair with the knots for two days with very little touch ups. I have 3 girls ages 11,8 and 2. How about the French braid? I find it hard to follow. I like your pictures, I see the steps very clearly and I am not confused by them.
What recommendations do you have for knots, any good knot removal tips?
